Millstone Grit slates near Buxton. Even on the largest slates the peg
holes are quite near the top. In part this is possible because the pitch
on south Pennine roofs is comparatively shallow so there is less downward
force on the pegs and peg holes than on say a steep Cotswold roof
(Terry Hughes).
