Taynton stone. Slates were quarried from the Taynton Stone near Enstone, at Fulwell and Cleveley, (and near Burford but as presents rather than pendle.) These were known generally as Fulwell slates. West of Stow-on-the-Wold the Taynton Stone was occasionally worked above the Fullers Earth Formation producing presents and frost-split pendle.
