Flies in Amber - Grouted Roofs
Roofs which have been grouted or Turnerised (covered in hessian and bitumen) are often our best chance of finding old slating details. This is one example in Pembrokeshire. The main slating on sawn battens is more recent than the valley which is fixed on riven laths.
